HALE LANA (“Floating House”)….located at quiet and relaxing Kealakekua Bay….a small low-key shoreline community. Ideal for couple or honeymooners. It is only steps (a one minute walk from your private parking space!) to enter the crystal clear water at the palm shaded beach, across from the Captain Cook Monument, for the best snorkling in the islands! The pristine bay is a protected Marine Reserve and underwater park providing numerous water activities, kayaking, dolphin sightings and whales. A great variety ofdifferent beaches are all nearby.
Hale Lana is removed from noise and traffic and is fully fenced and gated for added privacy. The home is a new superbly crafted tropical and luxurious pole and beam design showcasing natural woods, Italian tile, tropical furnishings, ceiling fans, large fully equipped kitchenette and large indoor and outdoor showers. The studio is large, open and airy with views of the gardens and mountains. There are several private patios to relax in sun or shade. There are large windows, high ceilings and louvred transoms to allow the balmy breezes and scents of the bay and surrounding plumeria trees to float through. It is easy to let yourself “hang loose” at Hale Lana.
Grocery stores, shopping and numerous restaurants are a 15 minute drive away on Highway 11. There are many areas to explore on foot such as the old Napo’opo’o Wharf and park. Historic Place of Refuge National Park (featuring Hawaiian historical and cultural displays and a Great Wall dating from the 1500’s and also excellent snorkeling)is three miles south. Kayak rental with easy launching and all you need is a block away. Other great beaches are a short drive or walk away. It is an easy drive into “downtown” Kailua-Kona for extensive shopping, dining, night-life, movie theaters, boat harbor and fishing. Volcanos national Park and green and black sand beaches are an easy day trip to the south. There are post offices nearby as well as fruit stands, botanical gardens, Painted Church and coffee and macademia nut farms and palm lined beaches and hiking.

We completed a FULL renovation in January 2006 where no surface was left untouched. The entire unit was demolished and rebuilt as new, with a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, all new appliances and new fixtures. Plus, we floored the entire unit with luxurious oversized Italian porcelain tile.
Our Kihei Ali’i Kai two bedroom, two bath condo is a large, 945 square foot, end unit that opens onto a lush, undeveloped tract of land affording an amazing amount of solitude. With two separate lanais, one for the main living area and one for the master suite, its quite well designed to accommodate larger groups. This is a TRUE two bedroom, two bathroom condo with double lanai frontage and NOT merely an open loft over a one bedroom, one bathroom layout.
The Kihei Ali’i Kai is a nice, quiet complex with pool, spa and tennis courts. Our unit is near the pool and only about 150 yards from Kama’ole Beach Park I and the Pacific Ocean. We have a king bed in the master suite, a queen in the second bedroom and a proper queen-sized sleeper sofa in the main living area. Also, we offer twin or full-size portable floor mattresses for extra guests. Our condo is newly furnished with a big screen TV in the living room and 24 inch flat screen TVs in both bedrooms. All three are equipped with VCR and DVD players. We provide a full sized washer/dryer set right in the unit. Plus, there is a powerful 24,000 BTU A/C unit in the living room and another brand new 10,000 BTU unit dedicated to the master bedroom suite. As a bonus, there are boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, plenty of beach towels and many other odds and ends already in the condo so you don’t need to buy or rent this stuff while out here.
We do also provide FREE BROADBAND INTERNET complete with a computer or, of course, you are welcome to use our WiFi connection if you prefer to bring your own !

You will love it here as much as we do! Everything in this condo, from the art work, to the furniture, lamps and dishes, has been chosen to embrace the Maui feeling. The building won the Kahili Award – Keep it Hawaiian – and we strive to meet this high standard. We have completely remodeled everything… kitchen, bathroom, carpet, paint, light fixtures, front door, you name it, to make it as comfortable as possible. The picture of the palms and ocean is taken from our lanai. The beach is in front of our property. The pool is right by the ocean, sometimes you get splashed by waves when you’re in the pool!
